Mini-Culminating Activity - A Raisin in the Sun

Mini-Culminating Activity – A Raisin in the Sun

Task:  Write an article to be included in a class newspaper about the characters, events, and places in A Raisin in the Sun.

You are responsible for writing a story (or stories) for the newspaper.  You can choose from the following:
·      1 Headline story  (i.e., Youngers move to Clybourne Park, Beneatha Younger leaves home for Africa, Playwright Lorraine Hansberry dies at 35)
·      1 Feature story (gardening, horseback riding, the city of Chicago, etc.)
·      2 of any of these: style, arts & entertainment, sports, police report, obituary, business/finance, travel/leisure, home/living

Remember:
·      Must be typed.  Your name should be in the byline.  (Ex: Language Arts Teacher has SWAG, by Carrie Beth Davis)
·       No plagiarism.  Your work must be cited!  Do NOT copy and paste from encyclopedia or any other source.  Plagiarism = 0.
·      This will be a test grade!  Do a good job, or be prepared to reap the consequences.
·      This is the ONLY day I’m promising you in the media center.  What you don’t get done today, you will be responsible for finishing on your own time.
·      Email finished assignment to davisamericanlit@gmail.com

1st and 3rd Block – Remember: You also need to do a final, typed draft of your character/item poem from yesterday.  Make it pretty, but do NOT spend more than 5 minutes or so typing it up!  PRINT it, and turn it in to me.  DO NOT email it to me unless I give you direct permission to do so.  (Remember, printing is 10 cents/page for black and white!)
